Enrichment
Hayes School - Weekly Enrichment:
At Hayes we believe that the curriculum is ALL a school offers both in and beyond the classroom. We are passionate that all children have access to a well-rounded and exciting curriculum and that children should be able to access these opportunities, wherever possible, within the school day.
To that end, we are proud to launch our Weekly Enrichment Offer. Every Friday from 2:15pm – 3pm, all children from Year 1 – Year 5 will participate in a wide range of activities designed to enhance, encourage, support and promote hobbies, skills and interests and so improve the personal development of all children. These activities will be changed every half term therefore allowing children to experience a whole host of activities and experiences throughout the year. Year 6, whilst not involved with the weekly enrichment sessions, will have access to additional enrichment activities throughout the year with the majority of these happening in the summer term. Reception children will also join the weekly enrichment offer in the summer term ready for their transition into Year 1.
All enrichment activities are free to attend and are for all children regardless of ability. The activities on offer will provide a wide and varied range of opportunities. These may, throughout the year, include enrichment activities such as additional sport, (e.g. running club) creative arts, (e.g. dance, singing or clay) curriculum enhancements, (e.g. maths challenges, creative writing sessions or coding) as well as activities not normally associated with a standard curriculum (e.g. yoga, wellbeing or sea-school!).
We hope you agree that this is an exciting addition to our Hayes Curriculum Offer.
