Accelerated Reader

Once children have graduated from Read Write Inc, they are assessed using a Star Test from Accelerated Reader, which gives teachers their zone of proximal development. This ensures that children can easily find books at the correct level of challenge (although they are not confined to this).  Books in the library are arranged in book level according to AR. The system allows children to be able to quiz books and their class teachers to then monitor their progress through quizzes.  Subsequent assessments take place at the end of each term to inform summative judgements.
